Protestant Art: Genyk Tombstone (see photo)

Ed Genyk wanted to memorialize his beloved wife, Rebecca, with an image of her inner strength rather than a portrait of her physical features. I therefore conceived of a female face that projects great dignity, strength, and tranquility. I carved it into a corner of the tombstone so that it would appear as if refracted by a prism materializing from the realm of spirit into visibility.
