This Iconostasion is an example of the power of understatement
that employs the natural beauty of oak and basswood in combination.
Elaborate carving in the Byzantine style is discreetly confined
to panels beneath the Icons and to the Royal Doors. The Icons seem
to hover in space above the carvings while the Royal Doors act as
a diaphanous veil linking the congregation to the altar.
