Creating sacred art calls upon special qualities in the liturgical
artist. Since 1980, I have created liturgical art for all of the
major denominations of the Christian faith and for the Jewish faith.
This website will allow you to visit churches, chapels, cathedrals,
and synagogues where you will see a wide variety of sacred art by
my hand: altars, pulpits, ambos, tabernacles, crucifixes, religious
sculptures of saints, martyrs, and Popes, Icons, Icon Screens, memorial
images, Trees of Life, and others.
Whether I am making Catholic sacred art, Protestant sacred art,
Orthodox sacred art, or Jewish sacred art, I am guided by five interlocking
principles:
- The work must serve the liturgical and ceremonial
needs of the religion.
- The work must reflect the wishes, goals, hopes,
and vision of the faith community.
- The work must harmonize with the church design
and architectural setting.
- The work must respect the traditions of spiritual
art of the given faith.
- The work must be of the highest level of artistic
originality and craftsmanship.
