I designed the Ceremonial Cross with a hollow center to reflect
the theology of the Mercy Cross worn by all of the Sisters of Mercy.
It bears no corpus, but rather asks of its wearer to live through
the sacrifice of the cross. I fashioned it from oak, brass and clear
glass and suspended it above the center of the worship space.
The Altar Table, Ambo, Credence Table and Tabernacle are made from
oak and ash wood. The Irish roots of Catherine McAuley inspired
the Celtic sacred designs on the furnishings.
I collaborated with stained glass artist Margaret Cavanaugh in
the creation of the Tabernacle.
